Second round for the Gaijin in Japan

Hi everyone,

this is going to be my second blog about going to Japan. Last time I went, I wrote in German and if you are interested in what I experienced in my one year as an exchange student at Kansai Gaidai University please visit my old blog: http://jahr-als-gaijin.blogspot.de

This time I will be in Japan for 3 month from October to December to attend a Japanese Language School in Kyoto (by far my most favorite city in Japan, and maybe in the whole world). In December I will take the JLPT N2 test (one year ago I took the N3 but I guess to find work in Japan that is not enough). In these 3 month I would like to take the opportunity to start looking for a job in Japan, since I just finished my bachelors degree in International Business and Japanese. I really hope I will be able to find something interesting.

I will write about everything that I experience in my time in Japan from food, to meeting friends, sight-seeing all around, and my school and host family. I am not planing on going on any big trips this time (last time I had much more time and money and managed to go to all kinds of places, e.g. Okinawa, Nagasaki, Hiroshima, Nagoya, Tokyo and so on). But in the Kansai area there is a lot to do and to see, like Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and Koba but also little cities like Uji (famous for its green tea) and other sights like Mount Kouya and the desert in Tottori. I hope I will be able to visit all of those places, but I will just have to see how it goes.

Today I started packing and had to realize that I want to take way too much stuff with me. I will have to go over it again and decide what I really need to take and which of the things I should leave behind. Even though I am allowed to bring 30kg on the plain it doesn't seem like enough.

I will be leaving from Munich Airport on Thursday evening and after one stop in Dubai will arrive at Kansai International Airport on Friday in the morning. I am usually really tired when arriving in Japan because of the time difference so I didn't make any plans for friday and saturday. I will just have time to arrive at my host families place and get to know them. Which I am really looking forward to.

That's all I can tell you so far, please look forward to my next post!

(FYI: I also started writing a blog in Japanese, just to practice a little bit, if you are interested, here is the link: http://kinpatsunosekai.blogspot.de)
